Life cycle assessment 2

I introduced the brief information about LCA last blog. In this blog, I will talk about the function and the shortage in my opinion.

I think most of us have already changed several mobile phones. For me, I have brought 5 phones since my high school because I like researching electronics, so some people like me may not know how to place the old one. Therefore, we can use LCA to help to decide whether we should disposal or recycle phones. Moreover, for toxic research, LCA is a helpful tool to investigate the influences. The stage can follow my last blog.

LCA is not only very useful but also direct because LCA can calculate impact assessment of environment and provide the potential effect of a substance with several data. However, there is no specific data to calculate the results sometimes. For example, we need food consumption data per person per month to calculate the per capita footprint of a person. So if we want to complete the LCA, we should weigh our food? It’s very impractical. Therefore, in this case, the LCA is a bit inaccuracy and may not reflect the reality. So LCA can’t use in rigorous research, which is a drawback.
