Sustainable parks

Parks are helpful to build a harmonious environment for residents, they play a positive role in urban planning. However, to establish a park also waste energy such as electricity, so it is necessary to create sustainable park.

In Dubai, they use green materials to create a lighting theme park. For example, all lightings have been designed in wild animals are made in recycle materials. Besides, artists use plastic bottles, glasses, silks and millions of energy-saving bulbs to build this theme park, which costs about 8 million dollars. Moreover, this park uses solar, diesel generator in order to save more energy.

Additionally, there is a sustainable park in Peking. This park is similar to that in Dubai, it uses solar energy to generate electricity, which is useful for energy conservation.

These parks are environmental friendly, but they cost much on energy-saving technology, therefore, this kind of park may not be widely built in the near future. They use solar energy which is intermittent, so how to ensure daily electricity is a problem. Although it has these drawbacks, it still need to be researched. If people can solve these problems, sustainable parks are really amazing.

Solar cars

Solar cars transfer solar energy to electricity, which are environmental friendly. Moreover, solar energy is a kind of renewable energy, it can reduce greenhouse gas emission and need lower cost.

However, despite it has several advantages, some shortcomings exist as well. Transfer efficiency between solar and electricity is one of the main problems. Due to instability of solar energy, it is difficult to gather solar energy so that cost is high, therefore, it cannot be widely used.

In addition to characteristic of solar energy, solar cars use aerospace materials which are very expensive, technology and application of materials cannot meet the demand of enough power, also solar cars have low weight capacity and low speed. These drawbacks would be barriers to popularize solar cars. However, people should research this kind of vehicle because solar energy is clean and sustainable, it is helpful for some suburb where there are no electricity. Pictures below show solar cars, they are still be researched, hope one day, I can drive this kind of car.

Sustainable packaging

Green package materials include reuse, recycle, edible, degradable and natural materials. This kind of package use less materials, product less wastes and save energy, also they are easily reuse and recycle, therefore, this package can meet the demand of no pollution and no harm. Even though, natural materials have no harm, they need significant amount of investment. However, composite materials need lower cost, so that it better to choice this kind of material.

In Switzerland, sustainable packaging is famous. They think ecology is the home of human beings and other lives so that they follow the rule of “ecology first” to produce and transport. All packages use green materials to produce papers so that no trees would be cut. Most package use plant fiber which can resolve in nature and without adhesion agent, all package use papers’ interaction force. In package, there are no inks. Besides, it produces less green house gases.

However, though sustainable packaging plays an active role in sustainable environment, it needs high technology as well. Nowadays, it has not been developed but need more attention because it can minimize usage of plastic and greenhouse gas emission, thus, government and relevant organizations and researchers should make deep research about green packaging materials.
