Green building

Green building refers to a structure that make energy efficient, protect environment, reduce pollution and provide a health used space throughout its life cycle.  

Green building has become a global research because of these reasons. Firstly, it can save energy, water and other resource. Because of pollution and population growth, there are less resource for people. Moreover, according to some articles, green building can save about 70,000 t coal per year. Therefore, it is necessary to put forward green building, a conception to reduce resource consumption. Secondly, green building is environmental friendly. Due to energy conservation, carbon dioxide emission that leads to global warming can be reduced, which will have significant impacts on climate change. Thirdly, it will benefit human health. There are different types of pollution such as air pollution and water pollution in developing countries, so green building is a better way to alleviate these problems and provide a healthy environment.

                                  

However, to establish a green building is not an easy thing. I had followed my tutor to design an energy efficient airport in Xi’an during my senior year. I felt very hard to complete this project because there were many data to calculate. Moreover, it is very hard to think how to make a procedure more energy effective. All these design depend on data, experience and experiment. Finally, we complete this project successfully! We made the airport save 30% energy less than before. Thus, even though green building is difficult to construct, it has great potential to make our life better, why not conquer these problems?
